Hi everyone, 

The City of Johns Creek is forming its 2026 all-star team (JCAT) to compete at the GRPA State Swim Meet on July 17–18 at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center in Douglas County. Sophie has taken part previously, and was awarded her medal by Mayor Bradbury at a City Hall ceremony. It's great fun!

Here's what you need to know if your swimmer wants a shot at making the team. 

WHO'S ELIGIBLE:

Swimmers ages 6–18 (as of June 1, 2026) who either live in Johns Creek, attend school in Johns Creek (and live in Fulton County), or swim for a team based in Johns Creek (and live in Fulton County). Our team qualifies, so most of our swimmers are eligible. 

HOW TO QUALIFY — TWO REQUIRED STEPS 

1. Ask Coach Ashley, Eric or me to add "JC6" in front of your swimmer's first name on their entry for the ASA League Championship Meet June 24–26 at Georgia Tech. No JC6 = no JCAT, even if their times qualify. Only times from this meet count. 

2. Pre-register online with Johns Creek Rec & Parks by June 22 at 5pm and submit a birth certificate if they don't have one on file. No exceptions. 

The top 3 finishers in each event (with JC6 intent) make the team, plus up to 12 top freestyle finishers per age group for relays. 

TIP FROM THE CITY: Have your swimmer enter a 3rd exhibition event at the ASA meet. Whatever individual events they swim there are locked in as their State Meet events, so a 3rd event maximizes their options if they qualify. IF YOUR SWIMMER MAKES IT - You'll be notified July 3. 

Payment and final registration are due that same day by 5pm — no late registrations. - Fees: $60 (Johns Creek residents) / $90 (non-residents). Covers entry fees, t-shirt, swim cap, coaching, and pool rental. 

Travel to Douglas County (lodging, meals, transport) is on you, and no-shows at state events incur scratch fees. 

Practices: July 6–16, weekdays only, at The Falls of Autry Mill. 10&U: 8:30–9:30am. 11&O: 9:30–10:30am. 

KEY DATES 

- June 19, 1pm — Deadline to submit ASA Championship entries with JC6 intent (confirming exact date with the city) 

- June 22, 5pm — JCAT pre-registration + birth certificates due 

- June 24–26 — ASA League Championship Meet at GA Tech (qualifier) 

- July 3, 5pm — Qualifiers notified; payment and registration due 

- July 6–16 — JCAT practices (weekdays) 

- July 17–18 — GRPA State Meet, Douglas County
