Hey all, so we do the mock meet to get a run through for everyone so when the real meet comes on Thursday we are ready.  I have a few notes that I need for all of you to read and please take it in the spirit that we just want everything to go smoothly for our kids. This is what I have:

1.  If you sign up for a meet, you are expected to be there.  If a last min sickness or something unexpected comes up, we understand but please let us know as soon as possible.  Just deciding not to go it not ok.  A lot of effort is put into this by many people and if you sign up for a meet, you swimmer is likely in a relay and other swimmers are dependent on them showing up.  Volunteer positions will be given to you and if you are not there it causes a problem.  

2. Everyone must have one adult available to be a volunteer per family.  You cannot just send you child to swim and not have an adult with them at the beginning of the meet.  If there are circumstances we need to know about, you need to tell us.  You must assume you have a volunteer position each and every meet.

3. During meets you can find Eric, Stephen, a volunteer coordinator to help you or answer questions, please do not grab coaches unless it is an emergency.  They are there to help the swimmers, make sure they know what they are doing and to keep them safe.

4. Take your volunteer job seriously.  Be at your post when you are supposed to so people are not trying to track you down.  Pay attention to what is going on.  If you are a bull pen parent, the first time an event is called you need to start getting your swimmers moving.  Real meets move much faster then tonight, they will not wait for you to be there.  Second half volunteers be proactive in being to your spots early.

5. Many many families have yet to donate drinks.  Please do that ASAP if you have not.  We are specifically lacking in the soda department (need diet and no sugar as well), but if you have not, please do so, it is part of what keeps the team going financially. I understand Kroger has a buy 2 get 3 free deal on coke products....

Ok I know that was a lot, but we just want to make sure this is a good experience for the kids, which is why we are all doing this.  Please take these items to heart and let's make a fantastic season for the kids!!!  A second email will follow this about the meet Thursday.  Let's have a great meet!
