A few notes from the Mock Meet
Thank you all for bearing with us as we knocked out the kinks last night.
One main difference you will see at the meet tomorrow, is that generally it goes much faster. SO you really need to be paying attention in your volunteer position.
All parents Important!: The bullpen parents cannot track your kids down during the meet. They will try their best to make sure the kids are where they need to be, but it is super important that you as parents tell you children to stay in their bullpens! If they need to get something to eat or go to the bathroom that's fine but they should not be running off to play during the meet. Please talk to your swimmers about that.
Bullpen parents: Last night was about as informed as you will ever be about what event we are on. Often you cant hear at all what is being called. I will do my best to keep you informed, but you need to be vigilant about getting the swimmers to their spots on time.
Timers Notes: Please make sure you are listening for change of end calls. As you saw, there are multiple times you need to change ends and the meet has to stop until you get to your spot. It is nice to help out the deck managers if you notice on of our swimmers is not at the start, but make sure it does not cause the starter to have to wait for you.
Finally, please email me if you are willing to be the ribbon volunteer. It is great to have the same person do it for the season. There is nothing you have to do at the meet, but at the conclusion of the meet you grab the ribbons and labels and attach them when you get home and put them in the age group folders before 9 am on Friday. First come first served on this position, let me know
Eric
